A great American story that takes place in one of the most dramatic and emotional periods of our nation’s history, the Civil War.
The spring of 1861 was a special time for young Johnny Boone (Cody Newton, X-Files–The Movie) as he watched his friends and neighbors march off to war. Too young to enlist and burdened by an ailing father, Johnny is forced to stay home and plant the Spring crop. But after fulfilling his obligation, the young Huck Finn steals off into the night to follow his road to adventure and catch up with his hometown unit, the 11th Kentucky Infantry.
His journey will take him aboard riverboats and into enemy camps where he will fall under the spell of the Colonel’s young daughter, a pint-sized Scarlett O’Hara (Christina Kernan, Daddio). But duty calls and young Johnny finds his way to the 11th where he will meet the demands of his youth and his nation.
Based on the true story of one of America’s youngest Medal of Honor winners, this film captures the imagination of young and old alike that has audiences saying, “Thanks for a very entertaining movie that the whole family can see.” “It is a great example to young people about love of country and family!” and “every American should see this!”
